I am most likely going to minor in International Development.
It's something I'm really passionate about, and it will help me live my dreams!
I have ALWAYS wanted to go on a Humanitarian trip.
I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Africa.
I feel connected to and fascinated by Africa and have my whole life.
When I was praying to find what Heavenly Father would have me do in Africa, a week or two later, I was at the Wilkinson Student Center at BYU and they were doing a presentation on Help, International. I was fascinated. I felt like it was an answer to prayer. They go all around the world, but I wanted to do the Uganda program.
It is EVERYTHING I've wanted for a trip to Africa.
The two best things about it are
The two best things about it are
1. They interview YOU and see your strengths and interests, and put you to work in your field.
For example, I'm an Elementary Education major, so they would probably put me in a school or an orphanage.
2. 90% of the kids who go on these trips are LDS. That is awesome. You don't find that anywhere else. Traveling and living with people who share your standards will be awesome
I'm going there next summer. Hopefully! And if I minor in International Development, it'll be paid for with my Student Loans! Yippee! :) Also, it'll be a great opportunity for me and maybe will open doors for later trips or jobs even related to Humanitarian things. Who knows.
I'm more than excited. Africa, here I come
